Punta Marqués
Gestionada por el municipio de Rada Tilly, el ANP Punta Marqués se crea con la finalidad de proteger los recursos faunísticos y escénicos en cercanías de dicha localidad, estableciéndose por Ordenanza Municipal (609/84) en el año 1984 el interés de proteger el apostadero de lobos marinos de un pelo (Otaria flavescens) ubicado al pie del acantilado y su interacción con las personas.
Ya en el año 1985 se crea por Ley Provincial (2580) la Reserva Natural Turística Punta Marqués, incorporándose al Sistema Provincial de Áreas Protegidas de Chubut, más austral de la provincia con un área de protección costera delimitada por 500m a la redonda del apostadero de lobos marinos.
En la actualidad, según los criterios de clasificación suministrada por la UICN (Unión Mundial para la Conservación de la Naturaleza) se definió al ANP Punta Marqués como Categoría V: Paisaje Terrestre y Marino Protegido (área protegida manejada principalmente para la conservación de paisajes terrestres y marinos, con fines recreativos); y su principal objetivo es: “conservar los atributos y cualidades naturales y culturales a largo plazo y, los procesos evolutivos y ecológicos establecidos”.
Managed by Rada Tilly City Hall , the NPA Punta Marqués was created with the aim of protecting wildlife and scenic resources in the area. In 1984, the City Hall , by law, ( 609/ 84 ) established the interest of protecting the apostadero of one-haired sea lions (Otaria flavescens) located at the foot of the cliff and their interaction with people.
In 1985, the Punta Marqués Tourist Nature Reserve was created by Provincial Law (2580), joining the Provincial System of Protected Areas of Chubut. It is the most southern of the province with a coastal protection in an area of 500 m along the hábitat of the sea wolves.
Currently, according to the classification criteria provided by the IUCN (World Union for the Conservation of Nature), the ANP Punta Marqués was defined as Category V: Protected Terrestrial and Marine Landscape (protected area mainly for the conservation of terrestrial and marine landscapes , for recreational purposes)Its main objective is: “to preserve the natural and cultural qualities and to establish evolutionary and ecological processes.”
