El \u00e1rea protegida comprende extensiones de meseta, costa y mar; por ello se pueden observar los representantes m\u00e1s notorios del ambiente terrestre como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n del ambiente marino-costero con una gran diversidad de especies que se han adaptado a las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas que presenta esta zona.\u00a0<\/p>

Con temperaturas de invierno por debajo de los 0\u00b0C y valores en verano que superan los 30\u00b0C, caracteriz\u00e1ndose como un clima templado-frio y precipitaciones d\u00e9biles e irregulares, en esta regi\u00f3n de la estepa patag\u00f3nica lo que m\u00e1s predominan son los vientos del Oeste a lo largo del a\u00f1o con velocidades que van desde los 12 hasta los 20 km\/h, superando r\u00e1fagas de m\u00e1s de 100 Km\/h en los meses de noviembre a enero. \u00a0<\/p>

La\u00a0flora\u00a0<\/i><\/b>en esta regi\u00f3n es de tipo\u00a0xer\u00f3fila<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/b>(adaptadas a vivir en un medio seco),<\/b>\u00a0compuesta en su mayor\u00eda por arbustos de bajo tama\u00f1o, como neneo, zampa, coir\u00f3n, molle, malaspina, bot\u00f3n de oro, etc. Estas especies han mostrado un alto grado de adaptabilidad en la modificaci\u00f3n de estructuras morfol\u00f3gicas como hojas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as y duras, espinosas y ra\u00edces largas que le permiten alcanzar la humedad del suelo.<\/p>

La fauna<\/i><\/b>\u00a0que habita en la zona continental est\u00e1 adaptada a la escasez de agua, consiguiendo este valioso recurso de su alimento, el cual tienen que conseguir recorriendo grandes distancias. Representantes caracter\u00edsticos son el zorro colorado, zorro gris, guanacos, cuises, etc.\u00a0<\/p>

Fauna marina<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 En la zona marina son varias las especies de mam\u00edferos que podemos ver en diferentes \u00e9pocas del a\u00f1o, como la ballena franca, ballena joroba, delf\u00edn oscuro, tonina overa etc. Sin olvidarnos del apostadero permanente de lobos marinos al pie del acantilado que se puede observar desde los distintos puntos panor\u00e1micos.
Geol\u00f3gicamente la zona de encuentra ubicada en el centro de la Cuenca del Golfo San Jorge, sobre dep\u00f3sitos marinos del terciario de 33,9 a 16 millones de a\u00f1os, conformados por areniscas, areniscas arcillosas, arcillas y bancos de calizas fosil\u00edferas, con restos de valvas de ostreas, balanus, turritelas, etc. Esto les confiere una gran dureza a estos bancos, haciendo que sean dif\u00edciles de erosionar, y los cuales conforman las plataformas de abrasi\u00f3n (restingas) en toda la localidad. La coloraci\u00f3n oscura proviene de la oxidaci\u00f3n de la caliza, como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n por parte de organismos marinos. Los factores ambientales que m\u00e1s erosionan los acantilados generando acantilados activos en retroceso (con formas de media ca\u00f1a y cavernas), son causados por el efecto del oleaje y las amplitudes de mareas, con temperaturas medias del agua que oscilan entre 8\u00b0C en invierno y 15\u00b0C en verano.
Estos sectores adyacentes a la tierra que conforman la franja costera, denominada intermareal, albergan una gran cantidad de organismos marinos que se enfrentan a los ascensos y descensos diarios del nivel del mar, quedado expuestos.
Otros permanecen en las pozas de mareas albergando una riqueza y variedad de formas de vida. Ejemplos de esta diversidad marina del intermareal son el diente de perro, mejill\u00f3n, mejill\u00f3n, cholga, erizos de mar, etc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The natural protected area includes extensions of plateau, coast and sea; for this reason, the most notorious representatives of the terrestrial environment can be observed, as well as the marine-coastal environment with a great diversity of species that have adapted to the climatic conditions of this area.<\/em><\/p>

With winter temperatures below 0 \u00b0 C and summer values \u200b\u200bexceeding 30 \u00b0 C, characterizing as a temperate-cold climate and weak and irregular rainfall . In this region of the Patagonian steppe what is most prevalent are the winds from the West throughout the year with speeds ranging from 12 to 20 km \/ h, overcoming gusts of more than 100 km \/ h in the months of November to January.<\/em><\/p>

For this reason, we can see that the flora in this region is of the xerophytic type (adapted to living in a dry environment), composed mostly of small shrubs, such as Neneo, Zampa, Coir\u00f3n, Molle, Malaspina, buttercup, etc. . These species have shown a high degree of adaptability in modifying morphological structures such as smaller, harder leaves, thorny leaves, and long roots that allow them to reach soil moisture.<\/em><\/p>

The fauna that inhabits the continental zone is adapted to the shortage of water, obtaining this valuable resource from their food, which they get\u00a0 by crossing long distances. Characteristic representatives are the red fox, gray fox, guanacos, cuises, etc.<\/em><\/p>

In the marine area there are several species of mammals that we can see at different times of the year, such as the frank whale, humpback whale, dark dolphin, tonina overa etc. There is also the lasting sea lions h\u00e1bitat\u00a0 at the foot of the cliff that can be seen from the different panoramic views.
<\/em>
Geologically, the area is located in the center of the San Jorge Gulf Basin, on Tertiary marine deposits from 33.9 to 16 million years old. It\u00a0 is made up of sandstones, clay sandstones, clays and fossiliferous limestone banks, with remains of Oyster valves, balanus, turritelas, etc. This gives these banks great hardness, making them difficult to erode, and which make up the abrasion platforms (restingas) throughout the town. The dark coloration comes from the oxidation of the limestone, as well as by marine organisms.<\/em><\/p>

The environmental factors that most erode the cliffs generating\u00a0 receding cliffs (with half-round shapes and caverns), are caused by the effect of waves and tidal amplitudes.\u00a0 The average water temperatures range between 8 \u00b0 C in winter and 15 \u00b0 C in summer. Guanaco (Lama guanicoe)<\/i><\/b>
Animal esbelto de cuello largo, patas largas y cola muy corta. Su pelaje est\u00e1 compuesto por dos capas de pelo (una corta y densa con propiedades aislantes, y la segunda m\u00e1s larga de hasta 10 cm). Presenta una coloraci\u00f3n rojiza en el dorso, vientre blanco y cabeza en tono gris\u00e1ceo. Especie herb\u00edvora t\u00edpica de zonas \u00e1ridas o semi\u00e1ridas, se los puede observar en grupos familiares liderados por un macho adulto. \u00a0<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Guanaco (Lama guanicoe)
<\/em><\/strong>Long-necked animal with long legs and a very short tail. Its fur is made up of two layers of hair (one short and dense with insulating properties, and the second is\u00a0 longer up to 10 cm). It has a reddish color on the back, white belly and head in a grayish tone. Roedor herb\u00edvoro de tama\u00f1o mediano, sin cola, de pelaje corto y coloraci\u00f3n gris-amarronada. Cabeza y ojos grandes y orejas medianas, de h\u00e1bitos diurnos y muy activos, conforman grupos en madrigueras que ellos mismos construyen, llegando a vivir entre 4 y 38 individuos. C\u00e1nido<\/i> peque\u00f1o de pelaje gris, con algunos pelos negros y blancos en el dorso que se tornan amarillento en los flancos y cabeza. Su cola es larga y gris, con la punta y l\u00ednea media dorsal de color negro. De contextura robusta pelaje denso y suave y cabeza grande, orejas triangulares y morro ancho, el dorso, la cabeza y las patas son rojizos, el ment\u00f3n extremo del hocico y vientre blanco a crema, cola larga y peluda con parche oscuro. Piche patagonico (Zaedyus pichiy)<\/i><\/b>
Armadillo peque\u00f1o de caparaz\u00f3n convexo y orejas cortas. Es un omn\u00edvoro, solitario y diurno. Uno de los p\u00e1jaros m\u00e1s coloridos y llamativos de Patagonia. Su tama\u00f1o es de 17 cm, la hembra de coloraci\u00f3n general m\u00e1s p\u00e1lida que el macho. Se los suele observar solos, en pareja o grupos que, en ocasiones, principalmente en invierno, llegan a los 100 ejemplares. Se alimenta en el suelo y en arbustos, principalmente de semillas, frutos e invertebrados.<\/i>

BIODIVERSIDAD \u00c1REA NATURAL PROTEGIDA Caracter\u00edsticas Generales General characteristics El \u00e1rea protegida comprende extensiones de meseta, costa y mar; por ello se pueden observar los representantes m\u00e1s notorios del ambiente terrestre como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n del ambiente marino-costero con una gran diversidad de especies que se han adaptado a las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas que presenta esta zona.\u00a0 Con temperaturas de invierno por debajo de los 0\u00b0C y valores en verano que superan los 30\u00b0C, caracteriz\u00e1ndose como un clima templado-frio y precipitaciones d\u00e9biles e irregulares, en esta regi\u00f3n de la estepa patag\u00f3nica lo que m\u00e1s predominan son los vientos del Oeste a lo largo del a\u00f1o con velocidades que van desde los 12 hasta los 20 km\/h, superando r\u00e1fagas de m\u00e1s de 100 Km\/h en los meses de noviembre a enero. \u00a0 La\u00a0flora\u00a0en esta regi\u00f3n es de tipo\u00a0xer\u00f3fila\u00a0(adaptadas a vivir en un medio seco),\u00a0compuesta en su mayor\u00eda por arbustos de bajo tama\u00f1o, como neneo, zampa, coir\u00f3n, molle, malaspina, bot\u00f3n de oro, etc. Estas especies han mostrado un alto grado de adaptabilidad en la modificaci\u00f3n de estructuras morfol\u00f3gicas como hojas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as y duras, espinosas y ra\u00edces largas que le permiten alcanzar la humedad del suelo. La fauna\u00a0que habita en la zona continental est\u00e1 adaptada a la escasez de agua, consiguiendo este valioso recurso de su alimento, el cual tienen que conseguir recorriendo grandes distancias. Representantes caracter\u00edsticos son el zorro colorado, zorro gris, guanacos, cuises, etc.\u00a0 Fauna marina\u00a0 En la zona marina son varias las especies de mam\u00edferos que podemos ver en diferentes \u00e9pocas del a\u00f1o, como la ballena franca, ballena joroba, delf\u00edn oscuro, tonina overa etc. Sin olvidarnos del apostadero permanente de lobos marinos al pie del acantilado que se puede observar desde los distintos puntos panor\u00e1micos. Geol\u00f3gicamente la zona de encuentra ubicada en el centro de la Cuenca del Golfo San Jorge, sobre dep\u00f3sitos marinos del terciario de 33,9 a 16 millones de a\u00f1os, conformados por areniscas, areniscas arcillosas, arcillas y bancos de calizas fosil\u00edferas, con restos de valvas de ostreas, balanus, turritelas, etc. Esto les confiere una gran dureza a estos bancos, haciendo que sean dif\u00edciles de erosionar, y los cuales conforman las plataformas de abrasi\u00f3n (restingas) en toda la localidad. La coloraci\u00f3n oscura proviene de la oxidaci\u00f3n de la caliza, como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n por parte de organismos marinos. Los factores ambientales que m\u00e1s erosionan los acantilados generando acantilados activos en retroceso (con formas de media ca\u00f1a y cavernas), son causados por el efecto del oleaje y las amplitudes de mareas, con temperaturas medias del agua que oscilan entre 8\u00b0C en invierno y 15\u00b0C en verano. Estos sectores adyacentes a la tierra que conforman la franja costera, denominada intermareal, albergan una gran cantidad de organismos marinos que se enfrentan a los ascensos y descensos diarios del nivel del mar, quedado expuestos. Otros permanecen en las pozas de mareas albergando una riqueza y variedad de formas de vida.
